Sharon G. Johnson began her career with the City of Leander in March 2004 as Finance Director and was promoted to Assistant City Manager - Administration in October 2007.
As Assistant City Manager she is responsible for the daily administrative operations of Finance, Library, Municipal Court, Utility Billing and Collections.
Sharon has over 30 years of experience in City Management, Budget, and Financial Management. She has obtained her certifications as a Certified Public Manager, Certified Tax Assessor and as an Investment Funds Officer and is re-certified every two years. She is an active member of the Texas City Management Association and the Government Finance Officers Association.
Prior to Sharon and her husband Robert moving to Leander, she served the City of Gladewater as City Secretary for 4 years; then the next 12 years as City Manager.
