The Finance Department is responsible for the financial planning, policy development and administration of the City's financial activities and personnel.
The Finance Department consists of three divisions:
The Finance Director reports to the Assistant City Manager and is head administrator of the Finance Department's programs.
Major areas of responsibility include financial administration and planning, accounting, payroll, utility billing and collection, budget operations and treasury management. Other duties of the department include processing accounts payable transactions for all City programs, producing the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements,administering the City's cash management and investment programs, coordinating the capital improvement programs, invoicing miscellaneous receivables and maintaining records of the City's fixed assets.

Property Tax Information
City Property Tax Rate for 2011-2012 is $0.67042 cents per $100.00. Property taxes are billed in October of each year, but they do not become delinquent until February 1st of the next year.
Please remember that there are other entities included in your total tax bill; the City represents only one entity.

Williamson County and Travis County Tax offices collect property taxes for the City of Leander. The Williamson Central Appraisal District and Travis Central Appraisal District are responsible for determining the value of all properties on the tax role.
