DEVELOPMENT GUIDE
The purpose of this Development Guide is to provide general guidance through the land development process in the City of Leander. However, this guide is not intended to provide every requirement or technical detail of each phase of land development. The City of Leander’s standards, policies, and regulations associated with land use and development are created in order to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens, while protecting the property rights of the land owners. This guide is intended to assist you through the required processes in order to ensure that you can complete your project successfully and in full compliance with the City regulations.

LOT INVENTORY MAP
The Lot Inventory Map of the City of Leander includes lot counts for projects that have not completed the platting process. This information is based on preliminary data gathered from concept plans and preliminary plats. Final lot counts may differ upon final plat of the property.

ROADWAY PLAN
The Roadway Plan for the City of Leander was adopted on March 15, 2007 and most recently updated on May 03, 2012. The Roadway Plan was adopted in order to facilitate the adequate provision of transportation, to lessen congestion in the streets, secure its citizens and visitors from fire, panic and other dangers, and promote the general health and welfare of the City.

The Leander Stormwater System Map was updated on November 29, 2012. Please verify with the Engineering Department regarding the accuracy of the map. It is the responsibility of the property owner to confirm the stormwater locations and sizes with City Staff.

TRANSPORTATION & DRAINAGE CRITERIA MANUAL
The City of Leander has adopated both the Austin Transportation Criterial Manual and the Austin Drainage Criteria Manual to provide design criteria for site development. The criteria shall be implemented with reliance on sound engineering and planning judgment.

WASTEWATER SYSTEM
The Leander Wastewater System Map was updated on November 28, 2012. Please verify with the Engineering Department regarding the accuracy of the map. It is the responsibility of the property owner to confirm the wastewater line locations and sizes with City Staff. Please use this map in conjunction with the 2005 Wastewater System Map to determine the wastewater locations in your area of interest.
